The Last Nights of Ramadan

قال الله تعالى في كتابه العزيز:
(يأيها الذين آمنوى اتقوا الله حق تقاته و لاتموتن إلا و أنتم مسلمون)
يَاأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاءً وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا(70)يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا

My Beloved Brothers-in-Islam, We are now just few days away from the last ten days of Ramadan. So far we’ve gone through the half month of Ramadhan, after two weeks time we will leave this month of barakah. My brothers, Ramadan is moving fast. And we do not know if we will see it again. Will we live to see the next Ramadan? Or is this our last Ramadan? Our last chance to perform our deeds and to be with our loved ones? We do not know what Allah has planned for us. But before we leave this wonderful month, I invite you. I invite all of us, to look back. Think of our actions. Think of what we have done. Do we have enough deeds? Deeds that we are proud to show Allah? The symbol of our love for Him?

May this lead us to improve ourselves on the coming days and to replace all that we missed on the past days.

Ask ourselves. Have we been a good Muslim? Have we used the time given by Allah to do good? Or have we wasted this time?

Those who are truly fortunate are the people who use Ramadan to become closer to Allah. In the day, they fast. Every part of their body fast with them, not just their stomachs. They protect their eyes from things which are haram. They protect their ears from words which are haram. And they protect their tongues from speaking too much. In the night, they perform their ibadah. Solat tarawih, solat witir, solat tahajjud. Day and night, they fill their time with the reading of the Qur'an. For them, Allah promises rewards which are multiplied. May we be part of this group of people, amin...

For those of you who have been ignorant this Ramadan, there is still time. In these last few days, grab the chance given by Allah. Beg for His Forgiveness and Blessings. Take this opportunity and cleanse your soul. Do not let Ramadan leave without Allah's forgiveness.

My brothers-in-Islam,

The coming last ten nights of Ramadan are special. And there is one night which is extremely special. The night of Lailatul Qadar. This night is better than a thousand months. For those who are praying on this night, they are the luckiest people. For their deeds are more than the deeds of 1000 months or more than 83 years.

Allah stated in Surah Al-Qadr :"And do you know of what is Lailatul Qadar? Lailatul Qadar is better than a thousand months".

And Rasulullah s.a.w. quoted in the hadith as narrated by Imam Bukhari:
"Find Lailatul Qadar in the last ten nights of Ramadan".

My brothers, We are now approaching the last ten days. These are the days when the Prophet was always in the mosque. Praying and doing his ibadah. When is Lailatul Qadar? No one knows. For Allah has made it a secret. For He knows the human heart. So long as the night is unknown, we will continue with our ibadah every night. Hoping that we will meet with Lailatul Qadar.
Dear brothers, we all take great care that our homes have adequate gas and electric power. It is also important that we do not neglect our spiritual power. Let us plug our heart and soul in to Laylatul Qadr and recharge our Iman batteries.

Let us spend our Laylatul Qadr, remembering Allah, swt, and offering thanks to Him, for his countless blessings that we enjoy each moment of our lives. Let us ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, to lift the burden of injustice and oppression from so many Muslim communities around the world. Let us ask him for his Divine power to help us become the dynamic, disciplined and balanced community, the Ummatan wasatan, the Witness to the nations, as described in The Holy Qur'لn. Let us spend this historic night asking our Lord and Master, to help us become the model Muslims that our children and all future generations would love to follow

But, the greatest reward comes with the greatest test. For Syaitan will work his hardest on these nights. It is during these nights that Muslims will become lazy and distracted.

From this mimbar, in this Allah's house, on this blessed day and month, I appeal to each one of you. Fear Allah's Greatness! Fear His Punishments! Do not waste your time commiting sins, especially during the last ten nights of Ramadhan. Fill the nights with solat and ibadah, or at least with something that will benefit your self and your family. Grab the chance to beg for Allah's Forgiveness. And do not let these nights go to waste with sins and maksiat.

Allah had stated in Surah Ibrahim, line 42:
"Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the Zalimun do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror."


Second Khutbah:

إن الحمد لله نحمده ونستعينه، ونستغفره، ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا، من يهده الله فلا مضل له، ومن يضلل فلا هادي له، وأشهد ان لا إله الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله

Amma ba'du
فإن خير الحديث كتاب الله، وخير الهدى هدى محمد، وشر الأمور محدثاتها، وكل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وكل ضلالة في النار

On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar, who said: The messenger of Allah took me by the shoulder and said: "Be in the world as though you were a stranger or a wayfarer."p The son of Omar used to say: "At evening do not expect [to live till] morning, and at morning do not expect [to live till] evening. Take from your health for your illness and from your life for your death." related by Bukhari

Brothers in Islam,
We will never know when is our heart is going to stop beating. Our death has been destined. It will never be delayed nor postponed. Hence, don’t ever delay to do good deeds. This month of Ramadhan is the best time for us to repent. This month of Ramadhan is the best moment for us to make change towards better. This month of Ramadhan is the best month for us to improve ourselves.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ”

"Truly, never will Allah change the condition of a people, until they change what is within themselves…"

واعلموا أن الله أمركم بأمر بدأه بنفسه فقال جل من قائل عليما:( إن الله وملائكته يصلون على النبي يا أيها الذين آمنوا صلوا عليه وسلموا

تسليما اللهم صلى وسلم على عبدك ورسولك محمد اللهم ارزقنا محبته واتباعه ظاهرا وباطنا اللهم توفنا على ملته اللهم احشرنا في زمرته اللهم اسقنا من حوضه اللهم أدخلنا في شفاعته
اللهم أجمعنا به في جنات النعيم مع الذين أنعمت عليهم من النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين اللهم أرضى عن خلفاءه الراشدين وعن

زوجاته أمهات المؤمنين وعن الصحابة أجمعين وعن التابعين لهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين اللهم أرضى عنا معهم وأصلح أحوالنا كما أصلحت

أحوالهم يارب العاملين
اللهم اعز الإسلام والمسلمين اللهم أعز الإسلام والمسلمين اللهم دمر أعداء الدين اللهم من أراد بالمسلمين سوءا فاجعل كيده في نحره وشتت

شمله وفرق جمعه وأهزم جنده ودمر سلاحه وأفسد أمره وأضلل سعيه وأجعل حياته عليه حسرة وعاقبة أمره خسرانا يا رب العالمين اللهم دافع عن عبادك المؤمنين اللهم اكفهم شرور خلقك يارب العالمين ربنا ظلمنا أنفسنا وان لم تغفر لنا وترحمنا لنكونن من الخاسرين

عباد الله إن الله يأمر بالعدل والإحسان وإيتاء ذي القربى وينهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر والبغي يعظكم لعلكم تذكرون وأوفوا بعهد الله إذا عاهدتم ولا تنقضوا الأيمان بعد توكيدها وقد جعلتم الله عليكم كفيلا إن الله يعلم ما تفعلون واذكروا الله العظيم الجليل يذكركم واشكروه على نعمه يزدكم ولذكر الله أكبر والله يعلم ما تصنعون .
